The failure mode is exactly the same with all 3, you power up the frame and the display just does not come on and displays a random bunch of horizontal lines. I bought 3 of these frames in November of 2007 for Christmas gifts. The issue has to do with reading from the SD/MMC/CF/USB slots/ports because the frame works fine if I remove the card or usb key from it and power it up. There are many positives about this frame, from it's 800x600 resolution to it's price point (at the time). However, over the last 6 months (April 2009 to October 2009) all 3 have failed. However, this means you cannot actually put any images on cards and display them. 100% failure in 3 frames.
Good picture quality, the menu leaves a lot to be desired. After about 2 months of having the product the picture frame makes a constant buzzing noise.It's enough to drive any sane person mad.
Had it two years, constantly displaying a slide show from a 1gb SD. Turned it off for a bit, and then on again. It looked and worked great. Then one day a white screen. There was no response at all - the unit was dead, and all attempts at revival failed. I agree with other reviewers: don't buy it unless you're willing to gamble on a short lifespan.
I bought this frame because it was a high resolution 4:3 ratio display at a great price. My first recommendation to anyone is NOT to get a widescreen (16:9) frame. Most digital camera pictures are in a 4:3 and this frame shows them without stretching or cropping them. There are a lot of options, but I simply like a frame to show a picture slideshow and this does it very nicely.
This item was defective so I returned it. I am still waiting for my refund so I cannot comment on the service of this seller.
